22 years ago today, a star was born. He’s been in the limelight for over a decade, so it’s easy to forget that Nyjah Huston is still in his early 20s. He’s got the most wins in SLS history and ups the ante every time he steps on the course. Nyah embodies the future of professional skateboarding, and we’re looking forward to seeing what he brings to the SLS Nike SB World Tour for years to come.

Tampa has a rich history of skateboarding beyond SPoT. There are plenty of gems to sample in the streets as well. We cruised around the city with a crew of talented skaters during this year’s Tampa Am. The latest edition of Monster Space Invaders shows a sample of what can be found around town. As you can see from the video, street skating is alive and well in Cigar City.

The action on the course inside SPoT wasn’t the only popping off at Tampa Am this year. Converse held its Concrete Bowl Jam on Saturday in the back of the park. Tranny rippers came from far and wide to sample the crete—and as always, it was action-packed! Jake Wooten came through with the win. And Willy Lara and Daniel Vargas took home second and third, respectively
