Growing up in Tokyo, Japan, Yuto Horigome’s dad taught him how to skate street and vert at a young age. After getting some local spon- sors and making a name for himself in Japan, Yuto made the trip to California in 2016 which changed his life. Right out of the gate he got on Blind Skateboards, then he dropped a Next New Wave part for The Skateboard Mag where he 5-0’d a 20 stair rail along with some other heavy tricks and then he ended 2016 with a 4th place finish at Tampa Am. These efforts helped him get the invite to the 2017 SLS Pro Open where he qualified into SLS by being one of the two highest placing non-SLS Pros and also landed on the podium with a 3rd place finish. Yuto continued to wow everyone by almost taking home the win in Munich, but came out just short on the last trick, taking home 2nd place. Yuto has already started off the year strong, by taking home an impressive win at 2018 Pro Open London, scoring multiple 9’s. Yuto is a force to be reckoned with for years to come, and 2018 will without a doubt be his year.
